Physical Therapy Technician

Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist Technician performs a wide variety of duties as they relate to company policy. The Physical Therapist Technician will present a pleasant and helpful manner to the Physical Therapist, patients, employees, referral sources, vendors, governing agencies and the general public. He/she shall adhere to the policies and procedures set forth in company standards.

Essential Duties/Skills:

• Responsible for provision and administration of specific physical therapy treatments only under the direct supervision of the staff physical therapist.


• While directly supervised by the staff physical therapist, the Physical Therapy Technician assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability foe\owing injury, disease or physical disability.


• Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.


• Must participate in operational aspects of the department.


• Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.


• Performs clerical duties, assists with posting of patient charges in the computer order entry system or on hard copy invoice system


• Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, organizational and safety programs, and all other programs as required.


• To perform additional duties as needed.

Education:
Physical Therapy Assistant Degree. Must have a valid license/certification to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Experience:
Experience in a rehab practice is preferred.

Supervision:
Responsible to: The VP of rehabilitation, and the Physical Therapist.

Physical Necessities & Exposure Risk:
Moderate physical work with the majority of time spent in the office. Exposure to infectious disease and hazardous materials will be occasional.
