Premier offers many resources for those dealing with COPD

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is an umbrella term for chronic bronchitis and emphysema, as well as several other diseases which cause difficulty breathing. Diseases that lead to COPD affect your airway structure. The difficulty you experience in breathing is caused by problems that affect the movement of  air into the lungs during inhalation and out of your lungs during exhalation.  The primary cause of COPD is cigarette smoking, however air pollution, second-hand smoke, history of childhood respiratory infections, asthma and heredity can also play a role in the development.
